Chevrolet, Suburban Silverado '85 (Not@online.)
Detroit, Michigan
On Wednesday September 10, 1997, the World lost a Great Lady. She was know to common man as a Suburban or to totally ignorants, merely as a car, but connoiseurs have recognized her special, very feminine qualities since her early youth in the late eighties.

The car was born in Detroit, Michagan. Raised in Rochester MA by her previous partner, Kevin St. Michaels, she lived through many harsh New England winters.

Kevin, put a lot of care and money into her. He gave her huge wheels, side-drawings, extended bumper with hooks and roof rack of lights that would make Stevie Wonder see. If she were a woman she would have stilletto heels, tattoo's, a leather bra and a huge tiara. Envision a Miss Hells Angels or something like that.

While the car was alive, we liked to comfort our parents with the following:
Moms, Dads and other significant others will be delighted to learn that statistics indicate that less people die in Suburbans than almost any other type of car. These data ignore the damage that the subs may bring on any other car.

She has her vices.as you'll be discover....

BMW R100 GSPD (Gelände-Strasse/Paris-Dakar) '95 (Not_yet@online_either)
Germany
Paul's bike is called Edith after his late grandmother, whom he recalls as an incredibly strong lady, who always faced the ruts and mudholes on the roads of life with an excellent mood.

The motorcycle was born in Southern Germany and thus adds to the international composition of our team. She was born as a so-called Classic model, the last of a line of successful R100 motorcycles that BMW has been producing since 1972. Only a few days old she moved to the US where she meet Paul in May 96 in Brockton South of Boston. It was love at first sight...

They have stayed closely together since, enjoying each other's company during many trips around Europe and New England. To make their journeys as comfortable as possible, Paul has generously added all sorts of equipment to the bike. She carries two gigantic luggage boxes from the famous Adventure Travel Specialist, Bernd Tesch in Aachen, Germany, a special travel wind-shield as well an integrated communication and music system from Autocom in New York.

On the Expedition, she has been very reliable so far, and only requires minimum care.

Moms, Dads and other significant others should not worry too much about statistics, because it all comes down to trading off the danger of getting out of bed in the morning with the enjoyment and thrill one expects of life. And one can get a long way with prudent driving.
